When our lips move together
This project was developed during a workshop with artist Alex Martinis Roe at ESAD Grenoble.
During the whole length of the workshop we read many texts, debated and shared ideas about how discourses brought up by early feminists during last century could still be meaningful nowadays. What is feminism and what repercussions we perceive?
We were invited to realize an artwork from what emerged during our conversations. I decided to work with three very different women and juxtapose their personal way of expression through a one-channel video installation.
I worked with: Chantal Akerman's film News from home, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's choreography on Come out by Steve Reich (part of Fase, Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich) and finally Jeanne Dielman's charachter in Chantal Akerman's film Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles.
